Care and Employment Ministers to speak at ageing conference tomorrow

Date: 01 December 2021

Minister for Employment, Mims Davies MP, and Minister for Care and Mental Health, Gillian Keegan MP, to speak at Future of Ageing conference in London tomorrow.

Join the UK’s leading conference focussed on longevity, hosted by the International Longevity Centre-UK (ILC) – the UK’s specialist think tank on the impact of longevity on society – on Thursday, 2 December, to hear two Government Ministers discuss how policy and practice should adapt to the increasing diversity of our ageing population.

From 10.25am – 11.40am GMT, Gillian Keegan MP, Minister for Care and Mental Health, will be discussing the future of care and mental health policy in the context of demographic change.

From 12.10pm – 12.30pm GMT, Mims Davies MP, Minister for Employment, will be discussing how the workplace of the future needs to adapt to an ageing and increasingly diverse workforce, and also announcing the shortlist of ILC’s Work for tomorrow competition.

Other sessions at Future of Ageing 2021 include:

  • Healthier for longer: How has the pandemic impacted on the future of preventative health?
  • Pension at 70? Should the State Pension age increase further?
  • Challenging discrimination in an increasingly diverse world
  • And more…

Also speaking at the conference will be:

  • Baroness Falkner (Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission)
  • Sir Vince Cable (Former Leader of the Liberal Democrats)
  • Dr Lisa Cameron MP (Chair of the APPG on Health)
  • And more…

Each year, ILC’s Future of Ageing conferences assemble more than 200 policymakers, business leaders, charity sector experts, academics and journalists from across sectors.
