Building a healthier society fit for the future – annual launch of the Healthy Ageing and Prevention Index 2025 alongside the 78th World Health Assembly
Time: 3:00pm – 4:30pm (CEST) followed by networking
Location: Geneva Press Club, Geneva, Switzerland
Join us for the launch of ILC’s Healthy Ageing and Prevention Index on Tuesday 20 May 2025, alongside the 78th World Health Assembly at the Geneva Press Club in Geneva.
The Healthy Ageing and Prevention Index is an online tool created by ILC that ranks countries on key health, wealth and societal metrics to understand a country’s adaptability to longevity.
Our Index finds that since the COVID-19 pandemic, the world has become unhealthier, less environmentally sustainable, and more unequal. Increasing conflict and political and economic uncertainties have further halted progress, meaning that without urgent action current frameworks and targets, such as those under the United Nations’ Pact for the Future, Decade of Healthy Ageing, and Sustainable Development Goals are unlikely to be actioned or met
Using our Index, we will set out what governments must do to improve their Index ranking and create future societies that are healthier, wealthier and fit for the future. This is our third annual launch event, with previous events attended by:
- WHO Director for Country Health Policies and Systems
- Singaporean Health Minister, Italian Health Minister, and Canadian Minister of Mental Health Addictions
- Swedish Public Health Director-General
You will hear from world leaders in health and sustainability on what needs to be done to ensure that healthy ageing is a priority for governments worldwide. There will be an opportunity for you to put questions to the delegate panel and network with global stakeholders.
Further details about the event will follow once more information is available. We hope you can join us.
