Preventing disease and limiting long-term impairment and the compounding impact of multiple diseases not only has positive health and wellbeing outcomes, but also wider economic ones.

This roundtable discussion ran alongside the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) conference in Austin, Texas. The discussion explored the case for prevention of ill health across the life course and how best practice can be implemented into practice within health systems. 

This event is part of the Prevention in an ageing world programme, which is seeking to reshape the debate around prevention and promote preventative interventions right across the life course.
