25 years of ILC-UK

ILC 25 years

In celebration of our 25th anniversary this year, we have an exciting schedule of research projects, events and other activities planned and we want you to be involved.

We want to:

  • Influence the State Pension Age review, exploring how to raise the profile of inequalities in life expectancy and healthy life expectancy.
  • Work on how to deliver lifelong learning, tackle poverty across the life-course and support good work.
  • Work within the UK and across the world on the importance of focusing health care systems on the prevention of ill health.
  • Explore the macro and micro economic implications of longevity and consider how governments should adapt.
  • Explore how our communities can better meet the needs of young and old as we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic. We will consider what a 15-minute place looks like across all generations and how housing policy will need to adapt.
  • Continue to work across 16 members of the ILC Global Alliance and strengthen an ILC network across Europe.

Also in recognition of our 25th anniversary, this year’s Future of Ageing conference will explore how longevity and ageing have changed over the past quarter of a decade, and what might happen in the next 25 years. Join us on Thursday, 24 November 2022 to help shape a vision for our future in the light of increased longevity by getting your tickets here.

If you have other ideas of ways you want to support our work during our anniversary year, we’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch with David Sinclair using the link below.
