We are recruiting for an Events and Engagement Officer

Our Events and Engagement Officer will work with the team to ensure our events are saying the right things, reaching the right people and at the right time, and having the best impact.

We have a strong track record in delivering impactful and influential events:

  • We organised an event for Ministerial delegations alongside the G20 Health Minister meeting in Japan, which contributed to changes in the G20 communique
  • Our annual Future of Ageing conference convenes the most important global policymakers and influencers interested in ageing
  • Our event with HRH Prince Charles attracted global media attention about the importance of better supporting older workers

We have strong convening power and attract UK and national policymakers and influencers. Speakers at ILC events have included:

  • The US Ambassador to the UK
  • Government Ministers from across the world including the USA, Japan, Singapore, New Zealand, South Africa
  • Sporting legends including Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE, Paralympian and Crossbench Peer in the House of Lords and Alan Smith, former professional footballer for Arsenal and England

We have run events in some amazing venues including for example:

  • 10 Downing Street
  • In the UK and European Parliament
  • At the top of BT Tower

We want our events to help us achieve our vision of a society that works for everyone, regardless of their age.

And we need your help to make this happen.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills who will be excited about working on one of the most important public policy issues facing society.

We want someone who will get excited about the potential of hosting Ministers and Senior business people but won’t be daunted by picking up the phone to them to chase their response to an invitation.

We want someone who understands who the best speaker for an event might be and have an idea of how to reach them.

We want someone who is great at following procedures (and making sure colleagues do as well) but isn’t afraid of innovating and adapting to change.

One day you might be focussed on identifying the key players in public health, technology, or one of our other focus areas. The next day you might be liaising with a venue in Bali to arrange a roundtable for the G20 Health Ministers. You will run events projects and deal with venues.

For a small organisation we offer good benefits and flexible working. We even give you your birthday as an extra day of leave as well as additional leave at Christmas and over the New Year.
