Longevity – the missing link in the climate change debate?

Dates: Thursday 22 September 2022
Location: Virtual
Time: 1:00pm–2:30pm BST

This ILC and the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries webinar explores the link between longevity and climate change, and the impact that each will have on the other. In particular, we want to explore how healthy ageing across the life course might be affected by climate change, and how longer lives might help or hinder tackling environmental challenges.

Key questions are:

  • What will the impact of climate change be on how we age?
  • How do longevity and climate change data and modelling interact?
  • How do different generations work together to tackle climate change?

Exploring this with us are:

  • Louise Pryor, Past President, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries
  • Hannah Pathak, Director of UK and Europe, Forum for the Future
  • Steven Baxter, Head of Innovation and Development, Club Vita
  • David Sinclair, Chief Executive, ILC-UK

The discussion was chaired by Lily Parsey, Head of Projects.
