ILC-UK in the news: June 2015

June saw the launch of the ILC-UK’s Centre for Later Life Funding. The first report launched was At a cross-roads: Understanding the future likelihood of low incomes in old age, and received coverage in the FT Advisor

We also launched a report, supported by the CIPD, which highlighted the skills shortages the UK could face in the next 20 years. Avoiding the demographic crunch: Labour supply and the ageing workforce was covered in the Financial Times, both in print and online.
The future of transport in an ageing society was launched in the House of Lords in mid-June. This report received significant press coverage across all media platforms. The report was featured on the BBC News 24 channel, as well as BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme and more than 10 local BBC Radio stations. The findings were covered in 106 local online newspapers, as well as BBC News, Yahoo News and BT News. In print media, the report appeared in The Times, The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Daily Express and The Daily Mail. The report also garnered a massive reaction on Twitter, with a potential audience of over 5 million reached.
