ILC-UK in the news: July 2015

This July ILC-UK have published three major reports; Summer Budget 2015: ILC-UK Policy Briefing, Opportunity Knocks: Designing Solutions for an Ageing Society and 80 and Eighty: An ILC-UK Factpack.

Our 80 at Eighty Factpack was launched to celebrate our Chief Executive Baroness Sally Greengross’ birthday, and contains 80 facts about the lives of 80 year olds in the UK today. The factpack, which covers everything from how active 80 year olds are to world records set by people at 80, was covered online by BT, Silversurfer Today, Worldfirst and Cambridge News.

Opportunity Knocks: Designing Solutions for an Ageing Society is a major report highlighting the vital role good design, technology and innovation can play in preparing for an ageing population. Researchers from ILC-UK were interviewed on BBC Radio Cambridge, Scotland and Cumbria and on Share Radio. The findings of the report were covered in the print version of The Telegraph, and online by Yahoo, BT, E&T Magazine and Cambridge News. The report was also widely discussed on Twitter, with more than 380,000 potential twitter impressions made.

Previous ILC-UK research continues to appear in the press; this month our research was quoted in an article on divorce in later life in The Telegraph, a story about older drivers in The Daily Mail and an article on Government investment into driverless cars on Yahoo.
