Healthy ageing in Israel and the UK: What can we learn from each other?

Date: Tuesday 31 January 2023

Time: 9.30am – 2.00pm (IST); 7.30am – 12.00pm (GMT)

Location: Ben-Gurion University, Israel, and Virtually

Israel and the UK enjoy the services of well-organized, (largely) not-for-profit, national systems of healthcare delivering high-quality care to all age groups. This event – jointly run by ILC-Israel, the Center for Multidisciplinary Research in Aging at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and ILC-UK – will explore the state of healthy ageing in both countries and what the UK and Israel can learn from each other.

ILC-UK will present key findings from its Healthy Ageing and Prevention Index, and Israel ESHEL will present its healthy ageing data. We will also hear from other external speakers on examples of best practice and discuss what needs to happen next to ensure healthy ageing can be realised by all members of society.

We hope that you can join us for this interactive conversation to engage in a high-level debate on healthy ageing and the importance of investing in preventative healthcare to ensure people not only live longer lives, but healthier ones too. This hybrid event will take place at Ben-Gurion University, Beer-sheva, Israel, and virtually via Zoom on, Tuesday, 31 January 2023.

Speakers so far include:
Israela Stein, The British Council
Gilad Hadas, ESHEL, Joint Distribution Committee
