Awards ceremony – Going for gold: How do countries compete when it comes to healthy ageing?
Date: Tuesday 16 July 2024
Time: 2:30pm (for 3:00pm start) – 6:00pm CEST
Location: Maison du Danemark, Champs-Élysées, Paris
At this event, the International Longevity Centre (ILC), ILC France and the ILC Europe Network hosted its awards ceremony as part of the Going for gold project ahead of Paris 2024.
For this project, we asked: if healthy ageing and prevention were Olympic sports, how would countries perform?
ILC explored how countries and territories performed on a range of healthy ageing and prevention metrics. Across eight events, we ranked countries’ performances to determine who is the best in the world when it comes to healthy ageing and prevention, compiling a Healthy Ageing Medal Table with 24 medals up for grabs.
At this ceremony, we:
- Showcased the findings from our Healthy Ageing Medal Table and how well countries compete against each other.
- Presented medals to delegates from the top-performing countries across our eight healthy ageing events.
- Discussed the importance of healthy ageing and prevention with expert speakers and global health stakeholders.
