Expert roundtable: Maximising the economic opportunities of ageing in Portugal

Date: Wednesday 8 March 2023

Time: 2.30pm – 4.30pm GMT

Location: Casa do Impacto, Travessa de São Pedro 8, Lisbon, Portugal

In 2021 and 2022, the ILC-UK ran a series of high-level international stakeholder events with senior policymakers and business leaders across the G20. We highlighted the economic opportunities of an ageing society and discussed how they can be maximised in the post-pandemic recovery and in the context of an ageing society.

Working with the British Embassy in Lisbon, we now want to bring this expertise and experience and explore how we can maximise the “Longevity Dividend” opportunities in Portugal, one of the fastest ageing countries in the European Union.

Ageing populations clearly present challenges for governments and societies, but they also offer up opportunities. We are keen to hear from policymakers, business leaders and researchers with an interest in the area of healthy ageing.

As part of the 4th UK-Portugal Healthy Ageing Forum, at Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, we would like to invite you to join our expert roundtable discussion on the challenges and opportunities of an ageing population in Portugal on 8 March, from 2.30 to 4.30pm. The roundtable will be held at Casa do Impacto, located at Travessa de São Pedro, 8, a 15-minute walk from the seminar venue.
