Brightwell webinar: The future of ageing in an uncertain world

Date: Tuesday 22 October 2024
Time: 12.00pm to 1.15pm
Location: Virtual

The world is changing rapidly and so is our experience of long lives. Future generations of older people will have different needs, and expectations to their parents’ or grandparents’ generations. In 2040, 63p in every pound will be spent by over-50s households. But to make the most of this potential longevity dividend, businesses and service providers will need to adapt.

Over the past six months the ILC, supported by Brightwell, has been running an innovative, futures-focused project, to look forward into the next 20 years to explore how our experience of later life will change, how the needs and desires of older people will change, and how the service offer for older people will need to adapt.

At the webinar, we will be launching our report “The future of ageing in an uncertain world” which paints a picture of what later life looks like today and sets out how our experience of longer lives is likely to change over the next 20 years. The report also includes a series of recommendations for policy makers and service providers.
