The ILC organised an expert roundtable on preventing alcohol harm among people in later life, which took place on Wednesday 10th July.
In the context of the publication of the Prevention Green Paper we drew on the learning and insights from the Drink Wise, Age Well partnership, considering how to ensure that efforts to prevent alcohol harm are able to meet the needs of older adults.
The Drink Wise, Age Well partnership is led by the behaviour change charity Addaction, together with the Royal Voluntary Service and ILC-UK. The partnership has been working to build knowledge and expertise in supporting people aged over 50 to make healthier choices about alcohol use. A core tenet of the programme has been to enable people with lived experience to have an active voice in identifying solutions.
